Question about Pets:Looking for pigeon terminology?

I think this might be what you're looking for.

Philoperisteron

I'm by no means a linguist, but Peristeron is an enclosure for pigeons, pigeon coop; Philo (as in Philadelphia) means like, love, I believe. So Philoperisteron looks to mean an admirer or lover of pigeons.

The Philoperisteron Club is the name of the pigeon club that Charles Darwin was affiliated with.

(I've raised pigeons for over 40 year and, honestly, except for the reference to Darwin and the club in 19th Century England I've never seen or heard this word used in the hobby.)
