| Question about Pets:Everytime I try to get my bird he starts freaking out, How can I get him to stop |
If you haven't had the bird long, it's completely normal. To get him to trust you, try standing by his cage and talking to him. None of that "who's a pretty birdie" stuff but "what are you up to? do you like that kind of toy? we should go get more of those if you like them so much" because he can tell if you're talking TO him or AT him. Try feeding him his favorite treat through the bars of the cage. Also, try putting your hand in the cage and SLOWLY following him around. Once he lets you get close, try petting him. It may take a while but he'll learn to trust you.
