| Question about Pets:Are there any bird friends I can get for my African Grey? |
An African Grey gets along with only another mate. However if your bird has already 'bonded' itself to you or another member of the family, (it's very easy to tell because it'll LOVE that person to bits) then it will not bond with any other person or bird.
An African cannot live with another species of bird or parrot indefinitely and even during brief encounters, must be supervised.
It feels the cage belongs to it. Putting in another bird will most surely result in bloody fights amongst the two birds.
Parrot owners who have multiple birds ensure they havea cage for each bird, unless the birds were raised as chicks together and have shown no signs of aggression.
You want a friend for you grey. But what does your grey really need? What it really needs is an owner who will devote more time and attention to it. Putting another bird into that cage is not going to stop his bad habits from developing.
