| Question about Pets:My pet dove has started plucking out feathers and has chewed and pecked his skin bloody. Any suggestions? |
used to breed canaries and pigeons.this problem looks like your pet dove has (red mite)this is a minute bug that sucks/lives on the doves blood,and turns red after feeding.all good pet shops should stock a redmite spray to kill of the wee blighters.you should spray all birds regularly with this spray.a little gremolene antiseptic should be applied to bare unfeathered skin.feathers will /should grow back as normall next year
