Probably not. If they are caged separately (which I recommend for all non-breeding parrots to prevent fights and squabbles), Dusty will remain bonded to you. Since he is bonded to you he will continue to talk to get your attention. He may even talk more when you are giving attention to the new bird tyring to get your attention! If the birds are caged together then Dusty might transfer his bond to the new bird and become less interested in talking to get your attention. Make sure to quarantine your new baby for at least a month!
