Question about Pets:What do i do if I found a lost baby blue jay? & how do i know if it is one?

Are you sure it was actually lost? Baby birds do fall from their nests, but that does not mean they are lost. The parents still care for the bird even if it fell from the nest. Your best bet, if it is safe around your home [no dangerous animals], is to put the bird into a shoebox or a box large enough for the bird to move around. And leave it in a safe place near by where you found it. The parents will find the baby bird by calling for it.

Make sure to observe the bird and box from a distance, as to not keep the parents away. If the parents don't come, then I'd make an appointment with a vet. If they do come, keep it there or release it in a safer spot so that the parents can continue to care for the baby.

Oh and, don't worry about the mother abandoning it because of the scent of humans... This is a myth, a bird's sense of smell is weak and touching the baby will not keep the mother away from it.
Personal experiences.
