| Question about Pets:Can bird feces looks like clear as spit or is it always white? |
On occasion one of my birds will defecate clear. Usually she's been drinking a lot of water/playing in the water. She's the only one that does it and I had her checked out at the vet because it is usually an indicator of an ailment.
Normal feces is green with a white coating although different foods can affect color (i.e. papaya, cherries, blueberries seem to change it the most).
The best thing to do is keep a diary. What is the bird eating, what was the color and consistency of the feces, etc. Take the diary with you when you visit the vet. The more information you have available the better able they are to determine whether or not there's a problem.
