| Question about Pets:What do wild birds eat besides seed? |
Since you asked this question right after asking about a bird stuck in your patio, I am hoping that you did not take a wild bird and plan on keeping it as a pet. It is illegal.
If the bird is uninjured, leave it where it is. If it is a baby, the parents will find it and feed it. Do not place any food near it - that will only attract larger birds and other predators that may hurt the bird.
If it is injured, contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. You can find one here: http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contact....
These people have the specialized training needed to care for sick, injured and orphaned wild animals. They also have state and federal permits that allow them to keep the wild animals, but only until the animal is healthy enough to be released back into the wild where it belongs.
