Yes, okay this is what you do.
Open the cage door and put your hand on the opening and while doing this talk softly to him. Tell him he's a pretty boy... or whatever.
Two weeks later put your hand inside the cage (but still don't try touching him) and again, speak softly to him.
About a week into this just try to pet him with 1 finger only ... keep doing this for about 2 weeks and keep talking to him.
After this you should be able to to put your finder under him and he should perch on it. Finally, in a couple weeks he should be confident enough for you to take him out of the cage while on your finger. Keep talking to him with a nice voice.
After a few weeks of this then you can start hand feeding him.
Give him boundaries of where he can and can't go and some cute things to say.
They love pine nuts, cheese, dark lettuce, spinach, scrambled eggs, and broccoli....but not much of any of these things. Be sure to give him a cuttle-bone.
DO NOT give him a mirror though- - - he will be as Narcissus was and fall in love with himself. You can give him a bell to ring or rings to play on.
Oh, yes, he can still fly but not far. You'll have to have his wings clipped about 3 times a year. But really, after he learns him boundaries he'll be fine.
