| Question about Pets:Does rice make pigeons bloat? |
rice that is uncooked is bad for birds becase it will swell as it absorbs moisture and as a result it can block the crop and cause fatal results
remember that bought rice is processed and is not "fresh" and if you look at the way it swells when you cook it should be self explanitary
it is not like the bird going out to the field and picking it fresh before it is dried when it is full of moisture still
the only bird that i have given cooked rice to is my hens, i would never give rice to pigeons at all
used to have fan tail pigeons and barbery doves myself for 8 years, grandad has kept racing pigeons for over 50 years so i think he knows what he is talking about by now
