I raised cockatiels for 5ys. Male birds DO NOT lay eggs!
Sorry but I cant answer your question. I never candled any of my eggs, I just left them alone untill they hatched. You shouldnt mess with the eggs too much the mother may kick them out of the nest. You didnt say but do you have a male? Cockatiels lay eggs every other day. Mine always laid between 5-8. I did have a single female who was in a cage by herself and she would lay 2-3 if we took them out she would lay 2 or 3 more. We left them alone, let her sit for 1-2 wks and she wouldnt lay anymore for months.
