| Question about Pets:Tiel with possible broken wing? |
Lindsay,
Since your in this perdicament the best thing to do until you get get your little guy to the vet is to wrap the wing to the body, no stick needed, but leave the healthy wing unwrapped. make sure it's tight but not so tight that it will cause more pressure and damage.
Please get some Aloe Vera plant if you don't have any. Aloe Vera plants are natures healing juices for birds. Just cut a small piece off the plant, wash it good, and feed it to your little guy.
Keep feeding him normally but instead of seed or pellets, which ever you use, I would feed leafy greens such as Romain Lettuce, Mustard Greens, Collard Greens, Spinach, Broccoli leaves etc. The greener the better. The greens are full of vitamin A and will help boost his immune system to help him heal faster.
Also I don't know if any of your local pet stores or gorcery stores sell this but a drop in the food will help as well it's called 100% Nautural Red Palm Oil. It will have a red color to it. make sure that it's all organic and no additives.
You can e-mail me or IM me at any time if you have any questions.
