Question about Pets:Reguarding a sick bird, and what to do?

I've never heard of a Parakeet plucking due to stress of a move but anything is possible. The other thing is, if it is a female and she is plucking near her vent, it could be that she is in pain. That is a weird place to pluck. We could all guess and try to diagnose the bird's problem but it is best to get her to a vet.

Couple of suggestions: Call a local parrot adoption agency and see if they can recommend a vet that would be willing to see the bird at a reduced fee or for free. Make sure the bird goes to an avian certified vet, which the adoption agency would know who in your area is qualified. Or, find a vet from the link below and call to inquire if they take payments.

Good luck to your friend and her bird. It sounds like both are a little down on their luck at the moment.
