Banding birds is not always needed as they can cause problems like getting stuff on a toy. Or a sore from one that is defective. But I recommend bands to id a bird that may have gotten out. Small time breeders can't afford bands sometimes. I order mine with out the year and they can be used for years. Some parents don't do a good job the first time or 2 and learn from having the first one or two clutches. Are you prepared to handfeed? That may be the only way to save them. If you don't handfeed by the time the eyes open they won't be tame and finding new homes will be hard. I have birds I have rescued too! There are alot of people who jump in with out any research. I have 2 baby parakeets because the woman took out the nextbox to soon because to smelled. Well they need cleaning inbetween. The babies weren't warm enough and the crops froze up. I got them moving and they are doing great now.
