Question about Pets:What do u feed a.?

The bread and oatmeal you are currently feeding the chick are not really that good for it. They do not contain all the nutrients that the bird needs. You should go to a feed store and pick up some starter chick feed. You can usually find chick starter at stores like Farm and Fleet, Big R, Rural King, etc. make sure the food is CHICK STARTER Feed and not layer feed. The layer feed contains too much calcium for growing chicks. Do not feed it regular wild bird seed or pet bird seed that you would fnd at a normal pet store or grocery store. These are not made for growing chicks. You need a feed that contains mainly corn, soybean meal, and vitamin and mineral mixes. Also do not feed it friut or vegetables. Chickens are made to digest a mainly grain diet.
