| Question about Pets:Are rats good average pets? Or look for something else? |
I've had rats since '93, and I don't intend to reveal how many have shared my life since then!
If you get rats, you absolutely must get a same-sex pair, as they are social animals, and need the company of other rats.
As to size, yes males do get bigger ( in general ), I've known males that were over a kilo, but I've also had some that remained quite small; so you pays your money, and you takes your choice.
Girls are, on average, more active, though again, I've known some laid back females, and some hyper males.
Most important is that you can tell the difference between the two sexes, 'cos you can't trust the petshop *G*
