Question about Pets:Why is my guinea pig hyper active, has ears up, and tries to bite me?

Memphisgal is right. Hyper piggys are good and there are only 3 reasons as to why a guinea pig may bite:
Mites
Fear and
Pain

Guinea pigs are herd animals by nature thus why they are extremely social, domestic guinea pigs do far better in pairs (or herds of 2 or more), often more active, social and happy. Please consider getting a cage mate.
