| Question about Pets:Why is my hamsters eye all wet? |
He needs to be seen by a vet right away, the contaminates in the pipe may have done something to him. Just think of everything in the pipe and see if you might not get sick from it. He also sounds like he has contracted pink eye from being in the pipe. Plus if it's swelled any, then time for the vet to see him. Only a vet can prescribe drops or an ointment for the eye. Never use anything for a human on his eyes either. He may have stuffed his cheeks due to hunger.
I just went through an ear infection with a rat we have up for adoption and she was taken to the vet the same day I thought something was wrong with her. She just didn't look right to me and had a very slight head tilt. I had to give her injections of antibiotics for 3 days to help her. Your vet should only give you either drops or an ointment for the eye. My vet is teaching me how to treat my own animals at home once leaving the vets office. He helps me with all my personal pets and with our small animal rescued pets to give them the help the need medically.
