| Question about Pets:What can I do to get rid of the ants around my birdcage? |
Powder boric acid can be laid down in a circle around the cage. That should discourage them from getting to the cage, yet is not a poison that might send fumes to your birds. You can find boric acid powder at a pharmacy or in an insecticide section at the hardware store.
If you can find the place where they are coming into the house, just pour full strength Chlorine bleach into the entry hole . Not only will it kill the ants that it touches, but it will render the hole unusable !! I did this in my basement, and the ants never returned!!
