The best way to identify the gender of a love bird is DNA testing. Unlike so many other species of birds, the males are not brighter and/or don't have different beak colors. But some good breeders can tell. They'll feel the space a little above between their legs, their pelvic bone. The females will have a wider spaced pelvic bone then the males. That's the only other way to tell, and even that's not 100%. The DNA testing is not a great option, but a sure fire one! Find a breeder who's been breeding for a long time.
