| Question about Pets:My cockatiel makes continuous annoying sounds? |
My budgie does the same thing...he calls me loudly and in an annoying way whenever I leave him at his house. (He's VERY spoiled). We usually tell him to calm down, or we say "shh", or we cover him or tell him "no" in a very stern voice. Not that these always work!
If possible, definitely spend time with your cockatiel. However, I would NOT encourage his calling you by going to him right then. Tell him no, and then if he is quiet or talks nicely immediately go over and praise him and spend some time with him. I would also say try to include him in everything you do around the house, as possible. My budgie is hardly ever IN his cage during the day, unless he wants to be. His wings are clipped, but he is usually with one of us.
