| Question about Pets:How can I kill fruit flies that show up around my parrots food dish? |
If fruit flies are hanging around your parrots' food dish, that's a sign you're leaving your veggies and fruits out too long in the dish. Only give enough fruits and veggies to last 2-3 hours, then remove them.
To remove the fruit flies that are hanging around the food dish -put beer in a glass near the cage, making SURE that the parrot can NOT get in the beer. The fruit flies will be drawn to the beer due to the smell of decomposition of fruits and grains and drown. The beer is TOXIC to your parrot, so make sure that it can not get to the beer. Leave the beer there for a couple of hours, then dump and replace as needed.
