Mourning Doves are NOT available as pets for purchase in any pet stores in the US. They are an indigenous species as well as regulated game bird and as such protected under the law. The only way in which you could keep one would be to have a current Fish and Game license and a compelling reason such as the animal is injured and you are rehabilitating it for release or it is unable to survive in the wild.

You can however purchase myriad exotic/non-native doves from pet stores.
