| Question about Pets:Is it normal to hug,kiss, and smell your birds? |
Have you ever gotten to smell a macaw?? They smell kind of like warm water! I know that sounds weird but that is the closest I can come to describe that smell!
If I could I would have the smell bottled!!
And I hug and kiss all my pet birds! My macaw doesn't give me a choice as he is just as into cuddling me as I am into cuddling him... i think he might be part cockatoo!
Do watch out for bacteria though as you can make them sick with your bacteria so when you kiss keep it dry and when you have a cold you might want to refrain. Sorry! And they wont like it either. Some "experts" say not to put your face near birds because of the bacteria but I figure I was doing it before they reminded me and it never bothered him so he had it or wont get it!
