| Question about Pets:Where can i find a mollucan cockatoo for sell thats a baby, around 3 weeks old? |
I am an Exotic Bird Breeder and any preweaned babies for sale can be found in Bird Talk Magazine's classified section. Pick on up at your local petsmart or Petco near the checkout counter. I would also suggest looking in your local newspaper's classifieds as well. Your third option would be to check online or let your local vet (avian vet if you have one) know that you are looking and they can recommend reputable breeders and or clients looking to find a home for the species that you are wanting.
Three week old neonates are very hard to feed unless you have experience in raising them. You need to make sure you have appropriate cages and brooders ready for the baby as well as hand rearing formula and supplies on hand. When I sell preweaned babies I always make sure that the buyer is experienced and if not I board the baby until it is down to two feedings a day (almost weaned). This will enable a buyer to still handfeed but at this point the bird is much better off and is fully feathered in so as to not need such strict limitations on it's housing and the feeding schedule is much better suited for the average person. Good Luck with your search, baby cockatoos are so sweet.
