Question about Pets:Breeding cockatiels?

Right now it sounds like your parents know best. Keep this cockatiel. Hand Tamed cockatiels do not make good breeders. You should wait until you get out on your own so your parents have nothing to say about it. In the mean time, keep the 1 you do have and research everything you possibly can about cockatiels during these years before you go out on your own. This will give you time to learn about cockatiels, learn how to take care of the 1 you have, and by the time you are ready to get a breeding pair, you will at least have learned what you will then know, and what you need to know to care for them properly.

In this time, in your area place ads all over the place asking people who do breed cockatiels in your area, to give you some information by asking them questions, making friends with them, learning how they care for theirs, and in the long run one of those friends you make will eventually probly give you your first pair to breed with. Heck show your parents in doing this, how responsible you WANT TO AND CAN BE in order to get them to change their mind in watching you grow in your experience and desire to learn all about them before you do any accual breeding of birds you may earn doing chores for the breeders you make friends with.
Once you show them how responsible you can be and are with your actions, only then will they say yes because they will know YOU have educated Yourself before taking too much on, that you dont know about now.

Did that make any sense? LOL! @_@ GOOD LUCK!
