| Question about Pets:What should i feed my african love birds for them to breed quickly? |
First be advised that most birds have definite mating, breeding and laying seasons. Most birds breed in the spring so that the babies will be grown by the time winter arrives. Usually only experts have the time , money and knowledge to breed their birds all year long. There are exceptions, but my birds have only bred in the spring for the last 10 years!
Second, breeding is *Not* something that should be done casually and with little knowledge. If you are not aware of proper diets, how will you be aware of cage requirements, nesting requirements, complications, and behavior problems?? Research. research, research!!! Please know about your birds before you attempt to breed them!

A diet with lots of vitamins is required, as well as calcium for the eggs.
You can actually add coarsely crushed egg shells to their food to give them more calcium.
You can buy vitamins for them at a pet shop , or ( a better idea) you can buy a good vitamin enriched food for them. Be sure to give them plenty of fruits and veggies mixed into the food. If they don't like fresh fruits and veggies, then try canned or dried. Just bge sure to give them no avacado , apple seeds, or seeds from peaches or apricots.
Dried fruits should include no sulfites. Health food stores are a good source. they also love crushed hot peppers found in the spice section of grocery stores. Dried fruits and veggies should be cut up into birdie-bite sized pieces. A small Lovebird will not try to take a bite out of a large piece of tough dried fruit.
