| Question about Pets:I have started to breed budgies, they were all doing well ! But no eggs hatched any ideas thanks? |
They stop breeding put still produce eggs when they get 12 or less hours of light a day, so maybe try increasing the hours of light they have.
Also check the sexes of the birds, you obviously have some females since you have the eggs but you may be missing the males, I had what I thought a male and female in a cage, they laid but I never had one egg hatch then I decided to pair them again with different birds and guess what?
Both the birds laid, so they were both females sometimes a female will take on the male role if the male is not present. Maybe this is the case with you?
You could alo try trimming around the vent and tail feathers on both birds just to give them a little more help when mounting.
Hope this helped, good luck with your birds and I hope you get some babies soon!
How do you tell the sex of a cockatiel? (previous)
