Question about Pets:Info about Cockatiels?

I'd call your local vet and ask if theres anything you can do to get your birds to stop mating, besides the obvious way of seperating them.

In my state you dont need any type of paperwork to sell a bird. It might be different there but, I highly doubt it.

You can call local pet stores and see if they're interested in buying your birds. If not then place an add in the paper, but make sure they're old enough first, and make sure you spend plenty of time with them (hand fed, tamed cockatiels are preferred because they're easier to tame when the person gets them home) I'd say a good price is 50-75 dollars for normal grays. Maybe a little more for color mutations. (80-90 would be a good price). Thats about how much they go for in pet stores (although color mutations are usually over 100 dollars). If you want to get rid of them quickly then a good price for each of them would be 30 to 50 dollars a piece. Enough to make sure someone doesnt just buy one on a whim because they saw an ad in the paper.

You can also see if you can list them on www.petfinder.com

Im not sure how listing works, but if you're interested in finding a pet in your area, you go there, type in your zip code, and the kind of pet youre looking for, and it'll give you a list of the pets in your area, starting with the closest to you. That way anyone who is looking for a cockatiel in your area would see yours. Thats the best way to ensure that someone REALLY wants a pet cockatiel.
