No, he won't hate you. Would you like a helpful tip?
Some of the best help you can give a bird when he is sick is a warm lightbulb right next to his cage. Take the shade off of a lamp and sit the lamp with the bulb right next to the bars. You cannot imagine how much it will help him.
Many times, with a simple light bulb, I have revived birds that were laying on their sides in the bottom of the cage nearly dead.
The bird will NOT get burned. He will get only as close to it as he needs to be.
It's a real miracle for birds and most vets don't even realize it. Try it. Your bird should feel much better within 2 hours. Do not stop the antibiotic once you have started them though, even if he feels like his regular self right away.
