| Question about Pets:Zebra Finch problems, sick? |
They would get over it pretty easily if you seperate them. That part would be OK, but unless you sell one why would you want to?
2 finches in a cage M/F, F/F or M/M are just fine but NEVER put 3 in a cage together OR 4 in a cage together. I didn't make that rule, but it's true, some or all will wind up dead from fighting if you put 3 or 4 together.
You can also put 5 or MORE together. If 3 or 4, the strongest bird will eventually kill the rest and may not even survive himself because he fought so hard.
Even if 1 or 2 are their babies, once they get all their feathers and begin to look grown, they may do OK for a while, but some day you will have ONE live bird in the cage (OR none)
NOW.... put a lamp without a shade next to the cage where the troubled bird is...as close as 1/4 inch from the bars. She will NOT burn herself and the lightbulb will usually heal the sick bird in an hour or two. It's almost like a miracle for birds and it certainly won't hurt to try. It's worked for me for 40 years.
Best wishes.
