| Question about Pets:Which Bird Care Books Do You Have? |
I find that most books are only out dated or reprints from the 70's only have a new cover put on them and sent back out with old information still in them.
Web sites are good and bad. Anyone can put up a web site with misinformation based on opinions.
I have to say the best book out there that i recommend is one that is "Feeding Your Pet Bird" by Petra M. Burgamann. It has the most information about what to feed your bird and what vitamins, minerals, and proteins your bird gets out of what foods. It touches base with deficiencies and what foods to feed to combat them. I've seen this book on Amazon.com for under 2 dollars.
Although my library contains many books, many from my college days, i still find that one the most knowledgable one i'd suggest to anyone.
All i can suggest is look at the publishing dates inside the front cover. Anything that talks about a seed diet is out dated and the most recent studies have shown it shortens the life span of birds dramatically.
