It isn't illegal and they aren't protected if you get the eggs from a breeder.
I would reccomend you ask for the babies, not the eggs, wait till the babies are about 1 week old then take them
You've got a better chance of them living to adult hood than if you bought the egg, there is no definate way to tell if the egg is even fertile.
If the egg was fertile think of all the risks-
It gets cold in the transport
You forget to tun it
You turn to too much
It gets dropped or knocked
The baby dies before hatching...
The list goes on.
Letting the parents hatch the baby on the other hand would be alot safer.
Before buying anything read up on the birds did you know-
The babies need to be fed once ever 2 hours when they first hatch?
Thnink of the costs of food and incubators don't come cheap!
Have you got a medical kit ready incase anything goes wrong?
The babys will need constant care and attention during the first few weeks of their lives, make sure you have the time and patience to give them this before making any decisions.
It's not as easy as it looks, trust me!
I'm not trying to discorage you from getting the birds, i'm just stating the facts, of course there are many good point about rasing a chick but alot of people don't realsie how are and tiring it is, please think hard before doing anything!
