Question about Pets:I have a parakeet but he will not let me take him out?

talk gently to your bird and start out with just putting your hand in the cage. dont attempt to touch him or anything, just let him get used to your hand. i know that its hard and itll take awhile but you have to work with him. while you have your hand in the cage talk to him gently, whistle to him, etc the whole time. wait about ten minutes put a treat in his cage then leave. itll take awhile but when he doesnt freak out when you put your hand in the cage (try one or two ten minute sessions a day) then stroke his breast a few times if you work with him and take your time eventually you will be able to put him on your finger(touch his breast and push up very gently and eventually he will step up)

also only clip his wings if you know what you are doing(if you dont you can really hurt him) and if you dont have any cats or dogs

if you have cats and dogs then he needs his wings to get away both of my birds still have their wings and the one gets out all the time (im still working on the other one)

good luck and dont give up its taken a long time with mine
