| Question about Pets:Um im like crazy about coach purses...but how can we tell if they are fake? |
The ones at the coach store will always be authentic.
And keep in mind there is a big difference between designer inspired and fake. For example, another maker may produce a purse that has a similar feeling leather or is the same shape as a coach, but it does not claim to be one. the other maker's name is clearly there.
Authentic coach purses will always have a serial number. wristlets, etc, may or may not. you can contact the company directly with the serial number. And the reps at the counters at the higher end department stores are also very adept at knowing if its fake or real. Staff at the actual coach stores can be hit or miss.
Pay attention to which product lines have what features. Some of the older classic styles do not have a fabric interior. the inside will just be the raw leather and they will have the coach name and serial number embossed inside. More and more of the coach purses in the 90s until now started having fabric linings more and more, although still having a leather plate with the serial number.
Pay attention to which product line has which type of lining (logo lining, stripes, etc). and you can always look at old catalogs too.
Unlike chanel or gucci purses there are very few knockoffs of coaches out there that try to pass themselves as coaches. there are more purses that try to look like them that are from other makers.
