We have yellow jackets bad here at my home and they used to do the same thing with the hummingbird feeders. What worked for us was to make a bee trap. Take a two liter bottle and cut it off right at the top of the label. Turn upside down what you just cut off and it will look like and work as a funnel!
Pour some sweet juice into the two liter put the funnel on top and set by the feeders. The bees will go down the funnel for the juice and get stuck and die.Or you can poke some holes in the side while your at it and put some sting through it and hang it also. It's the only way i can have the feeders her because my father-in-law is HIGHLY ALLERGIC to bee venom.
