Question about Pets:How to introduce new birds to existing birds in a cage?

Zebra finches and spice finches are compatible, they may be housed in the same cage. As long as that cage is large enough to house them (zebras can be quite territorial).

First of all, remove all the birds. Change all the perches, everything to make it look like a completely different cage and new territory. Then put them all in at the same time.

If someone starts picking on someone else, remove the bully and put him in a different cage. Put the cage next to the others so that they can still see each other. In about a week, put him back in with the others. If he starts bullying them, remove him right away and try again every few days.

This method has worked well with my birds.

Note that zebra finches do tend to be bossy and growl at other finches. But if he is chasing them for ages and not giving them a rest or plucking their feathers, then that can't be allowed to continue,
