| Question about Pets:When are you supposed to stop feeding hummingbirds? |
We don't take ours down, even if there's an early frost. There may be a straggler, and the flowers aren't out then, so they will really need some sustinance.
Keeping your feeder out WON'T change when they go, and will probably help some birds farther North that are migrating late. (Such is the case of the H'bd in the book "Hummingbird in My House".)
For this same reason, we put our feeders up very early in Spring, in case of any Hummers migrating early. We live in Missouri, so are a midway point between Mexico, and the Northeast, and what they get from us possibly makes the differece in whether they can finish their long trip or not. Barb Cole
