| Question about Pets:How do you tell the sex of a cockatiel? |
It'll be really hard to tell. The most definate way to find out is if you take it to the vet. But usually the males are a lot more outgoing. Wanting to play a lot more, have brighter cheeks, and are more curious. The girls usually have a more plain feature. Her cheeks won't be as colorful, be a lot more loving but quieter. Both males and females do develope stripes on their tail feathers and both also pick up noises and words they hear. It's also harder to tell if they're still young. Your best chances to find out without a vet, is to wait about 8 months or so when they're adults. But here's a link that I think will help you out.Talks about visual sexing of cockatiels. Good luck.
