| Question about Pets:Can cameraflashes blind a bird? |
I doubt a camera flash would do permanent damage. I've certainly taken a few of my birds, and they seem to see fine. Just don't hold them close too the flash. Put them no closer than you would want to be.
Here's a good way to tell if a bird is not blind:
Go up to the cage. Sit still for a minute. Without making any sound at all, make some funny faces at your bird. See if it reacts to you. It might slick its feathers down, or it might squawk, or it might just **** its head and look at you funny.
Those things are all proof a bird is NOT blind. It's harder to prove a bird IS blind. Your bird might see you just fine and just not care about your silly faces, but chances are it will do something.
