| Question about Pets:I just bought a parakeet 4 days ago. What tricks are the easy for it to learn and what foods are good for her? |

Read that first. It's for cockatiels, but it applies to budgies as well.
For food, try 40% budgie seed mix, 40% vegetables and legumes, preferably dark-coloured veggies, such as broccoli, grated carrots, spinach, cookecd corn, cooked lima beans etc. And 20% cooked brown rice and hardboiled eggs.
If the bird doesn't want the vegetables, keep trying. Put them in the seed dish, or clip them to the cage bars with a cage clip. Or feed them to her from your hand.
Foods you should NOT feed are chocolate, alcohol, avocade, rhubarb, dairy (milk and cream, but processed dairy such as yogurt is ok), excess salt, excess sugar, caffeine, and too much oil (no deep fried things).
Tricks depend on the bird. Some can learn to lie on their back in your hand, or come to you on command, etc. But the first trick is to step up. The link I gave you above teaches you how to do that.
Good luck with your new bird!
